Luxury Brands

The top luxurious brands keep growing hard in 2018. Together, they sold for more than USD 200 billion. We made an overview:

LVMH: Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy is the owner of brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, Bvlgari, Tag Heuer and more. This French fashion house was founded in 1854. In 2018 they made a revenue of Euro 46.8 billion, +10% over the previous year.

Kering: The French luxury group composed of iconic houses of fashion like Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and others was created in 1963. In 2018, the group achieved revenue of Euro 13.7 billion.

The Estée Lauder: One of the world’s leading manufacturers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care products. Revenue in 2018 was about $13.6 billion. The Company’s products are sold under brand names including Estée Lauder, Aramis, Clinique, Prescriptives, Lab Series, Origins, Tommy Hilfiger, M•A•C, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Donna Karan New York, DKNY, Jo Malone London, Bumble and bumble, Michael Kors and others.

Richemont: This jewellery and watchmaker from Switzerland is the owner of Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, IWC, Piaget, Roger Dubuis and others. They made a revenue of euro 10.9 billion.

Chanel: a private company from Paris, founded by Coco Chanel in 1909. Revenue is about euro 10 billion. It’s one of the most popular brands among consumers. Chanel No.5 has been a top-selling perfume for many years.

Hermès: The French maker of leather goods was founded in 1837. The revenue in 2018 was Euro 5.9 billion. About 7% more then in 2017. The group employs 14284 people, an increase of almost 800 people in one year.

Michael Kors: Belongs to Capri Holdings, a global luxury group who owns Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors. In 2018, revenue was $4.7 billion.
This award-winning designer of luxury accessories was established in 1981.

Prada: This Italian fashion house was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada. Miu Miu is also a brand of theirs. In 2017 revenue was Euro 3.1 billion.  Ostrich leather bags from Prada sell for approximately $10 000 a piece.

Other big luxury houses are Luxottica Group who makes Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses. L’Oreal Luxe, who is also the maker of Lancôme and Biotherm. Ralph Lauren: founded in 1967 with headquarters in New York. PVH Corporation (De Phillips-Van Heusen) who owns Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Speedo. Coach from the USA who owns Kate Spade. Burberry Group plc from London. Giorgio Armani (+ Emporio Armani): the famous designer from Italy.
